Too many hits to the head

Now I truly see the dangers of fighting in hockey. The brain damage is severe. Come on George, give your head a shake. The green party, really?

Turning back the hands of time

Stephane Dion, in French tradition, waves a white flag and returns to November 2005 so that he can hand back the leadership of the Liberal Party of Canada to Paul Martin. That, or his new strategy is to make Canadians feel soooooooo sorry for him, that perhaps the Liberals might get some sympathy votes if Dion ever finds enough courage to actually bring down the conservative government. Is this man not the most pathetic political leader you have ever witnessed in your life? It just gets stranger by the minute over there in Ottawa. Is there something in the water? There must be, as even Harper is not the man he use to be.

No elBulli here

elBulli is a restaurant that has rated in the top 50 restaurants in the world for several years. It has won "Best Restaurant in the World" three times from Restaurant Magazine. Unfortunately it is in Spain. Here in Canada we have to settle for kiddie meals...

Poll: PM best of weak group

Nanos said the fact that a whopping third of Canadians couldn't say anything nice about the leaders points to a "general grumpiness" in the electorate.

"They're just not happy with what's on the political menu right now, and they see themselves as faced with a series of imperfect choices," he said. "In this world, there may be a series of imperfect federal leaders, and Stephen Harper is the best of the imperfect group."

Sadly this phenomena is not limited to just federal politics but is at all levels. Where did all the leaders go?

Ready to Rumble

Duceppe today challenged P.M. Harper to step in the ring. There won't be a fight though as Duceppe's kind are not willing to actually FIGHT for anything. They would rather leave the hard work to others and simply enjoy the benefits that come from that work. All talk, no action is their motto.

Does Duceppe realize how this looks to the rest of the country? It is quite alright for soldiers to die in a war just as long as they are not Quebec soldiers. How pathetic. Duceppe should note that they are not in the Quebec unarmed farces. They are in the Canadian Armed Forces. They are not equipped with white flags.

It sure is nice to have a PM with a bit of a spine. I was really tired of all the jelly fish we had in that office for so long.

Harper will smack down Duceppe when they get back to the house. Of that I am fairly certain.

Now if we could only get some judges with some common sense as well as spines maybe we can get this country back on the RIGHT track...

Oh Danny Boy

The pipes the pipes are calling...
Looks like NL Premiere Danny Williams might want to take another look at the numbers before he continues to yell and scream at Prime Minister Harper over the governments proposed equalization formula.

CNews:
Newfoundland and Labrador will end up getting $5.6 billion more under the federal government's proposed equalization formula than under the status quo, says a Memorial University professor.

And if you come, when all the flowers are dying
And I am dead, as dead I well may be
You'll come and find the place where I am lying
And kneel and say an "Ave" there for me.

Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy.... Oh boy...

Liberal Tory MP Wajid Khan

In this post I will not get into the whole floor crossing canundrum. It happens, I don't like it, It is not against the law of our country, deal with it. Yes, I felt the same way about it back when Belinda did it too. Lets move on....

Dion says:

Amid speculation that a Liberal MP is planning to cross the floor to join the Conservatives, Liberal Leader Stéphane Dion told the CBC Friday he is confident there will be no such defection and that the MP is a "committed Liberal."

Speaking to the CBC Friday, Dion made clear his position that it isn't appropriate for MPs to accept mandates from the Prime Minister while in the opposition.

"To me, we co-operate with the government, but we are not the government," he said, also noting that "I cannot blame [Khan] for something that happened before I became the leader."

Dion Lied:
OTTAWA (Reuters) - Liberal Member of Parliament Wajid Khan has switched parties to join the Conservatives, Prime Minister Stephen Harper said on Friday.

"I respect Mr. Dion but I feel Canada needs a leader, and that leader is Stephen Harper," Khan told reporters. He also said he discovered a "political chemistry" with Harper after the two held detailed conversations in recent months about foreign affairs and national security.

Harper played down the partisan nature of the switch, and stressed that he would work with anybody who shared his government's objectives.

"The more we work together, the more both of us realized that, politically, we have an awful lot in common," Harper said of Khan.

The last comment there by Harper, in my mind, is probably true to a larger extent of all political types. We all have more in common than we care to admit no matter our political leanings. I just wish more people would realize it and start working together more to solve the problems we face today and all the tomorrows of the future. It worked very well over at Blogging Party of Canada when Dazz did up his policies. It was worked on by cons, dippers, libs, seperatists and everything in between. It was a give and take adventure that turned out quite well. His policies turned into something that pretty much everyone was happy with. If only our REAL politicians would learn to do the same. Perhaps this is a start down that road.........

Update... You MUST check out ChuckerCanuck on this topic. Frickin briliant!
