The coming Liberal caucus retreat in Regina will be a "helpful step" toward quelling alienation in Western Canada, says federal Finance Minister Ralph Goodale. (who is he kidding?)
"It's an important opportunity for the caucus to learn more about Saskatchewan and to connect better with Saskatchewan people, so I hope it will be a good exchange going both ways," Goodale said, appearing on CTV's Question Period.( And Saskatewan represent exactly how much of the west?)
"I think (western voters) care about how well their national government understands them, whether we are paying attention, whether we get the issues that western Canadians are most interested in."(oh really... is this a new liberal policy?... are they going to be going around giving all us westerners big hugs too?)
"In all likelihood (the caucus retreat will) precede an election so it's extremely significant in terms of the policy development process, in terms of dealing with governance issues and it's very significant that we have a positive, productive caucus meeting...And the election readiness and the House strategy obviously will also be discussed," Liberal MP and national caucus chair Andy Savoy told The Hill Times last month.( Ahhhhhhh....... now I get it... more liberal lip service prior to an election call...)
Prime Minister Paul Martin will be making public appearances in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba from August 22 to 26.( and we the kind tax payers are footing the bill for these trips promoting the liberal party... we are just so nice...almost makes ya wanna cry...)
