Dissapearing Act

Sorry about the lack of posts in the past week. Not that anyone really missed anything.

Just taking advantage of this wonderful weather we have been having and doing some renovations on my house. I no longer have a kitchen... so if anyone would care to invite me over for a meal or two I would be forever in your debt. A guy can dream can't he... oh well... hopefully by next weekend I will have a brand new shinny kitchen. That or I'll be sitting in the Alberta Hospital recovering from a nervous breakdown... I still have to refinish the hardwood in the living and dinning room... will it ever end? This old house will continue after these short messages....

Hmmm I could probably handle you being in my DEBT but I'm not sure I could work with you every day in my department.

LOL! Have fun!

Okay... DEBT not dept... got it now... its fixed... dope... smacks forehead... must be the wall paper remover... that stuff is wicked... Thats my excuse and I'm stickin to it...

And what department would that be exactly... inquiring minds would like to know... Hopefully it has something to do with food...:D

You're always welcome to break bread at my house. We ain't fancy -- but we're all good cooks, here, and there's always lots to go 'round.

Mind you, it would probably be a bit of a commute...

Dude ... your doing it the hard way ... when I get tired of a place, before reno's, I sell and move on. It helps when you have zippers on the boxes... speaking of, I have a full spectrum of fast food outlets around me that fills the bill so I don't get the kitchen dirty doing dishes ... LOL

Thanks Chimera for the offer... but... seeing I am off work at 4:30 PM and the "commute"... having supper at 6:30 Am and then having to be back at work for 8:00 Am just does not seem to work...

Well ABF... I bought this place at a steal of a deal and the whole intention was to fix it up and stay here for the rest of my capable life... Us babyboomers dont have long if you believe everything in the news lately... I actually enjoy doing the renos... I just hate not having a functional kitchen to cook in... I lived out of those zippered boxes for quite a few years... not going there again... part of the renos is to add a built in dishwasher... next I will have to find someone to operate it... I'm not a big fan of fast food outlets... they just don't seem to want to cater to my dietary needs... the bastards... such is life... I'll quit whinning now...

"built in dishwasher" ... so that's what that thing is? .. I thought it was for washing computer parts... the boards fit perfectly in the racks .. LOL

I'm the exact opposite ... I used to like the renos, and know it's just to much damn work ... including cooking. I'm... uh .... uh ... over ... uh ... 40 .. so I've done my time, and now it's time to just ... uh ... uh ... work the rest of my damn life .. :-(

I'm uh... uh...uh...over 40 myself... but I still enjoy creating something from virtually nothing... and this house was just that a year ago...now it is close to being a home I can be comfortable living in for the rest of my life... not too big... and not too small... said the baby bear... its just right.... :)

hmmmmmmm.. maybe I should try cleaning some of the boards I have around here... maybe that would get them working again... P3 MB's are hard to replace these days... and I seem to be coming across my fair share that are failing lately...

Geez, I don't do a lot of cooking during the week. Maybe this weekend I should have an Edmonton Blogger potluck or something (you can be exempt Tim). Food for thought. Everyone has to bring something Danish (except probably wine, do Danes even MAKE wine?)

Tim said...

Arent you the sweetest Candace... I'm sure they do make wine... If Canadians can why not the Danes?

Apparently they do..they even have a Danish Wine Growers Association

I've been thinking that a blogger potluck at my house (or anyone's) is a bit dicey if you haven't met the bloggers (i.e. where does a certain psychotic blogger live????)

Maybe we should have an Edmonton Bloggers party, at which point those of us who are not psychotic can plan a bit more exclusive pot luck party for the next weekend?

Get out - Danish wine? really?

go figure

Tim said...

Really... sounds like they are even entering the exclusive French market with their wines... quite interesting...

I would prefer a home cooked meal... lol but you are right best to do the restraunt thing at first... better to be safe than sorry... Hmmm.. have to check to see when Dino gets back into town... Oh you mean that other "certain psychotic blogger". I am fairly sure he is in Ontario... but who really knows?

That "certain psychotic blogger" lives in the Ottawa area...so you guys are safe.

Okay, now...Calgary is doing it, Edmonton is doing it, Toronto is doing it -- when does Lower Mainland do it? Are there any other Tropics of Canada bloggers out there?
