What we have here is a failure to communicate

Somebody forgot to tell someone about this obviously. Perhaps our expert on the topic can explain how this could be possible. While he is at it, I would love to hear what he has to say about this. If everything he believes about climate change and how us humans burning carbon is the cause, can he also explain why this is such a bad thing?

Solar, wind and other natural forms of producing energy just won't cut it.
Leadership requires making actual decisions Mr. Dion. Talking endlessly about solving a perticular problem as you have shown, does not solve the problem...

You can't have your cake and eat it too.

What Liberals did not want to hear

Via... Blogolitics

Conservative MP Russ Hiebert: "Mr. Schreiber, I have a couple of simple questions I'd like to ask you. They only require a yes' or 'no' answer. They're not complicated and I hope you'll be willing to provide me with the answers.

"Have you ever spoken directly with, or met, Prime Minister Stephen Harper?"

Karlheinz Schreiber: "No."

Conservative MP Russ Hiebert: "Has a lawyer, while acting on your behalf, ever met with or spoken with Prime Minister Harper?"

Karlheinz Schreiber: "No."

Conservative MP Russ Hiebert: "Have you, or a lawyer acting on your behalf, ever met with or spoken with a member of the staff of Prime Minister Harper's office?"

Karlheinz Schreiber: "Not to my knowledge."

Conservative MP Russ Hiebert: "Mr. Schreiber, have you ever held a membership or donated funds to the Conservative Party of Canada since its creation in 2003?"

Karlheinz Schreiber: "No."

Maybe they should just stick with the In Out thingy... Oh wait, thats a dead issue too isn't it? Wonder what Dion's little marry band can come up with next to try and "gotcha" PM Harper and the CPoC?

Took long enough

RCMP to probe Dziekanski's history in Poland: CTV
Perhaps now we might find out why Dziekanski was on a leave from work for two years prior to coming to Canada. My bet is... it was a medical condition of some kind, which more than likely contributed to his death.

Science/Journalism 101

So you want to be a scientist... or how about a journalist? Either way I am about to save you a ton of money. No need to waste your time and money on education. Why bother, when all you need to know is how to link everything to CLIMATE CHANGE. That alone will guarantee a successful career in this day and age. Lets take a look shall we...

Take note of the HEADLINE here...

Fever outbreak linked to climate change

It does not say "Fever outbreak linked to globalization". Although that is more factual, it just won't get the same amount of publication as does "Fever outbreak linked to climate change" will.

This next one is a little bit more underhanded. It never actually mentions "climate change". It simply leads the reader to believe that it is linked to "climate change" here on earth. You know...the OMFG factor... We are going to end up just like Venus if we don't stop the production of CO2!

Runaway greenhouse effect turned Venus into oven, scientists say

Lets not let the little fact that Venus is much closer to the sun and therefore much hotter get in the way of a good climate change theory.

Russell said, "If I were designing the planets, I would exchange Mars and Venus's position."

Venus is warmer and has a thick atmosphere, while Mars doesn't have enough atmosphere for life.

"If you put Mars where Venus is and Venus where Mars is, that would be perfect" for life to evolve, Russell said.

The genius of a scientist... Perfect my ass! Does it not occur to Russel that if Mars were to be in Venus's place in the solar system, Mars would have the exact same problem due to its proximity to the sun? Personally if it were me playing God, I would just put all of the planets in the same orbit as the Earth and spread them out a bit like a marry go round.... we know this is the "sweet spot" in our solar system as we are the only life in it! Not too hot and not too cold... baby bear says its just right...

Yes boys and girls, it is... just that easy!

Dion a drag on dragging down the already foundering Liberals

These days, its brand name is all that is keeping the Liberal party afloat in the polls. In Quebec, where the Liberals thought they had hit rock bottom over the course of the sponsorship scandal, Dion is dragging them further down.

Even with the so called global warming, there were still too many ice bergs for Dion to maneuver around. He has clipped one to many and his fate is obvious. The only question is... does he jump or does he go down with the ship?

Shocking!

They did it again. They also used pepper spray, their batons and re enforcements to subdue this guy. Guess what? He is still alive. Wonder how that happened? Makes you go hmmmmmmmmmmm don't it.... Maybe some people should wait until we have more answers to the many questions that need to be answered before they jump to conclusions. I am not defending anyone or accusing anyone, nor am I placing blame anywhere. Why... because I/we don't know all of the facts. Watching one video of an incident does not give us all the answers. It only gives us one angle. I don't know about the rest of you, but I view things using a wide angle lens. It tends to give you a larger perspective on whats really going on.

It's "Unequivocal"

From The Free Dictionary

Adj. 1. unequivocal - admitting of no doubt or misunderstanding; having only one meaning or interpretation and leading to only one conclusion; "unequivocal evidence"; "took an unequivocal position"; "an unequivocal success"; "an unequivocal promise"; "an unequivocal (or univocal) statement"

2. unequivocal - clearly defined or formulated;

The Church of Climatology has spoken.

The Summary for Policymakers, and a longer version called the Synthesis Report, were written from thousands of pages of data and computer models based on six years of research compiled by the IPCC.

Weather changes, of that there is no doubt. It always has and always will. Now what causes those changes, thats another story.

Notice that they do not mention that:

UN climate experts wrangled here Tuesday over a landmark document on global warming amid criticism that the draft report was bland and some of its findings out of date.

One negotiator described the talks among the Nobel-winning Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) as "difficult".

The source said there had been by sharp exchanges over what the document should include and whether it should reflect findings published after a cut-off date for new material.

Nice to see that the CBC is still using the cute yet not so cuddly Polar Bear as their Global Warming Mascot.

Lets go with the later part of the first definition shall we... "an unequivocal (or univocal) statement" from the loony left.

Poll: PM best of weak group

Nanos said the fact that a whopping third of Canadians couldn't say anything nice about the leaders points to a "general grumpiness" in the electorate.

"They're just not happy with what's on the political menu right now, and they see themselves as faced with a series of imperfect choices," he said. "In this world, there may be a series of imperfect federal leaders, and Stephen Harper is the best of the imperfect group."

Sadly this phenomena is not limited to just federal politics but is at all levels. Where did all the leaders go?

More Unsettled Science

Yet another kink in the IPCC armor...

You do know what they say about assuming don't you? It makes an ASS out of U and ME... Well in this case it just makes the IPCC more of an ass, if that is possible.

Via Power Line I recommend you read the whole article. It is a fairly short read.

"Global warming theory says warming will generally be accompanied by more rainfall," Spencer said. "Everyone just assumed that more rainfall means more high altitude clouds. That would be your first guess and, since we didn't have any data to suggest otherwise ..."

There are significant gaps in the scientific understanding of precipitation systems and their interactions with the climate, he said. "At least 80 percent of the Earth's natural greenhouse effect is due to water vapor and clouds, and those are largely under the control of precipitation systems.

"Until we understand how precipitation systems change with warming, I don't believe we can know how much of our current warming is manmade. Without that knowledge, we can't predict future climate change with any degree of certainty."

The old computing saying... "garbage in garbage out" comes to mind once again.

Dion's Dream

This photo(shopped) was just released over the wires! Stephane Dion is jumping with glee! His old boss was heard saying.... and I quote... "A proof is a proof"

Mulroney and Harper

By now everyone in Canada's blog-o-sphere knows about the little ooops over at the globe and mail in regards to Dion's attempt to sully PM Harpers rep. Dion had a little plastic surgery done in a hurry by the looks of it. Anyways... It seems that things are not going according to Dion's little plan as per usual. Brian Mulroney has come out swinging a big bat and is not acting much like a guilty man

Edmonton, A Proud Military History

When you here of places like:
Mount Sorrel, Flers-Courcelette, Arras, Ancre Heights, Hill 70, Ypres, Mons, Vimy, Somme, Passchendaele, Amiens, Scarpe, Hindenburg Line, Canal du Nord, Flanders, Sicily, Piazza Armerina, Leonforte, Agira, Adrano, Troina Valley, Colle d’Anchise, The Gully, Ortona, Liri Valley, Hitler Line, Gothic Line, Monteciccardo, Monte Luro, Rimini Line, San Fortunato, Pisciatello, Savio Bridgehead, Naviglio Canal, Fosso Munio and Apeldoorn, what comes to mind?

What if I added a few peoples names to this list?
William Antrobus Griesbach, James Curry Jefferson, Cecil John Kinross and John Chipman Kerr.

Does Edmonton even come to mind? I didn't think so... But it should. All of the places mentioned above are names of major battles during WWI and WW II that the The Loyal Edmonton Regiment took part in. Quite successfully I might add.

The first two names are those of two of the most highly regarded leaders the Canadian Forces ever had. The later two are both recipients of the Victoria Cross. All four were members of The Loyal Edmonton Regiment. Although at times it was known by different designations, its core was always based on volunteers from Edmonton and the surrounding areas.

I could go on here for hours... But I won't. If you would like to read more about the LER, I suggest you head over to The Loyal Edmonton Regiment Museum web site.

From The Cost of Freedom

Sadly, the historical record shows that we are not always grateful. Admittedly, during and immediately after these wars, Canadians have shown appreciation for the military's sacrifices. Communities have hosted welcome home parades and built memorials. But, within a generation, the memory of sacrifice, and the sense of appreciation for the men and women who have made these sacrifices, has faded. Families remember, but as a nation and a people, we forget.

Today is Remembrance Day. We as a nation and people must never forget. Those who have have made the ultimate sacrifice, those who have served in the past and those who serve now, deserve our support and respect. It is a small price to pay for what they have given us.

Weather to Fund

It sure must be tough to be a "Nobel Prize winner" and get the cold shoulder from your own government. No respect I tell you! The evil PM Harper has told his thugs not to give these great minds anymore funding for climate change research. How will they ever pay the rent? How will we, the little people of Canada ever know when the climate has changed without these great minds telling us? We are doomed I tell you, DOOMED!

I have a better question... If this is all that it is made out to be, you know, the whole global warming is going to kill us all thing. Why is it that the money is not pouring in to these guys from everyone via donations to solve the problem? Why do they even need government funding to continue their research? You would think that by now, they would have billions tucked away as we all want to be saved don't we? It works for the televangelists...

Perhaps it is just typical human behavior... we talk a lot but we really don't do much. My feelings on this topic are well known here on this blog. I am a non believer. Me bad. I am the ruin of civilization as we know it. At least I am in good company.

Where your tax dollars go

$330,000.00 and counting. That is approximately how much the city of deadmonton has forked out for snow removal already this year. Yes I did say snow REMOVAL! Amount of snow removed from the streets of Edmonton... Zero... nada... none... That $330,000.00 is just a retainer fee to make sure that the graders will be available in case we do actually have enough snow to remove. Meanwhile those graders are working at other jobs making anywhere from $157.00 to $267.00 per hour just waiting for the city to call them in to push snow around. Any guesses when they will actually have enough snow to call them in to actually work? I'm guessing not before Christmas. By then we will have paid those same grader operators over $700,000.00 not to remove snow from our streets. Good gig if you can get it.

Yes you the tax payers of Edmonton as of October are paying graders not to plow snow. This is the mentality of our elected numb nuts. The same numb nuts that want to jack up our property taxes by over 10%! The same numb nuts that figured they were worth a 21% raise!

What can you do about it? Call this number and let them know how NOT pleased you are!
Phone: (780) 496-8200 or send them a fax... Fax: (780) 496-8210 or send them an email... cacentre@edmonton.ca

Don't let these numb nuts get away with this crazy shit. This is just the tip of the iceberg...

Searching for the elusive

Money tree...

The newly elected Edmonton city council is currently looking at the 2008 budget. Fortunately for them, they received a 21% increase in wages as they will be needing it to pay for yet another tax hike they are discussing. This year again, they are talking about a 10% rise in property taxes. And that is if we are lucky as it might even be higher than that. I am so happy to say that I personally did not vote for any of the current bunch. I refused to vote for any of the incumbents. Both of which in my ward got back in as well as the dick head of a mayor.

Knock knock... is anyone home over there? Where do you idiots think all this money is going to come from? You just raised our taxes by close to 5% last year. Inflation is at around 4%. How can any of you over paid people justify a double digit increase in taxes? How can you justify your 21% raise for that matter?

Just so you all know.... Money does not grow on trees! Here in the real world we don't get 21% raises. Take a look at the contracts you are signing with your employees that are averaging 4% a year at the moment.

Again I say... Time to move!
