Inconvenient Truths
Obviously Al Gore does not read much about Global Warming.
Al Gore Calls Myanmar Cyclone a 'Consequence' of Global Warming
Using tragedy to advance an agenda has been a strategy for many global warming activists, and it was just a matter of time before someone found a way to tie the recent Myanmar cyclone to global warming.
Former Vice President Al Gore in an interview on NPR’s May 6 “Fresh Air” broadcast did just that. He was interviewed by “Fresh Air” host Terry Gross about the release of his book, “The Assault on Reason,” in paperback.
“And as we’re talking today, Terry, the death count in Myanmar from the cyclone that hit there yesterday has been rising from 15,000 to way on up there to much higher numbers now being speculated,” Gore said. “And last year a catastrophic storm from last fall hit Bangladesh. The year before, the strongest cyclone in more than 50 years hit China – and we’re seeing consequences that scientists have long predicted might be associated with continued global warming.”
Gore claimed global warming is forcing ocean temperatures to rise, which is causing storms, including cyclones and hurricanes, to intensify. (emphasis mine) [...]
Now remember Al stated this on May 6th of 2008. Lets take a look at what has been written on the subject of ocean temperatures prior to that date shall we...
ScienceDaily (Sep. 21, 2006)
[...] The average temperature of the water near the top of the Earth's oceans has significantly cooled since 2003. [...]
DOB Magazine - April 28, 2008
[...] D'Aleo suggests that the IPCC has greatly underestimated the role of oceans in climate shifts. Although he believes the sun is probably the ultimate driver, the meterologist says oceans correlate far better with temperature change than any other factor. D'Aleo points out that this year's shift from a warm El Nino current in the Pacific Ocean to a "super-cold La Nina" coincides with the biggest temperature drop in the entire weather record.
Media attention will soon shift from ice melt and warming to what D'Aleo calls WMD (weather of mass destruction). He forecasts an increase in hurricanes, colder weather, heavier snowfalls and more flooding due to persistent La Ninas over the next few decades. Because sensationalism sells, the television weatherman thinks the media and climate alarmists will blame these new events on man-made change. Not true, in his view, because similar weather events occurred from the 1940s through the 1960s when the Pacific Ocean last went through a cooling cycle. [...]
News Busters May 1, 2008
[...] A cool-water anomaly known as La Niña occupied the tropical Pacific Ocean throughout 2007 and early 2008. In April 2008, scientists at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory announced that while the La Niña was weakening, the Pacific Decadal Oscillation-a larger-scale, slower-cycling ocean pattern-had shifted to its cool phase. [...]
Unlike El Niño and La Niña, which may occur every 3 to 7 years and last from 6 to 18 months, the PDO can remain in the same phase for 20 to 30 years. The shift in the PDO can have significant implications for global climate, affecting Pacific and Atlantic hurricane activity, droughts and flooding around the Pacific basin, the productivity of marine ecosystems, and global land temperature patterns. [...]
Telegraph 04/05/2008
[...] The most dramatic evidence, however, emerged last week with an announcement by Nasa's Jet Propulsion Laboratory that an immense slow-cycling movement of water in the Pacific, known as the Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO), had unexpectedly shifted into its cool phase, something which only happens every 30 years or so, ultimately affecting climate all over the globe.
Discussion of this on the invaluable Watts Up With That website, run by the US meteorologist Anthony Watts, shows how the alternations of the PDO between warm and cool coincided with each of the major temperature shifts of the 20th century - warming after 1905, cooling after 1946, warming again after 1977 - and how the new shift to a cool phase could have repercussions for decades to come.
It is notable that the German computer predictions published last week by Nature forecast a decade of cooling due to deep-ocean movements in the Atlantic, without taking account of how this may now be reinforced by a similar, even greater movement in the Pacific. [...]
And just for the heck of it, and because it is a good read, I'll toss in this one...
International group disavows UN’s climate claims
[...] One of the most telling signs invalidating the predictions of catastrophic global warming is the expansion of Arctic sea ice. After a supposed record thaw, the ice has returned. A report from the Canadian Ice Service, which has kept records on sea ice since 1972, noted above-average coverage of the Arctic. Gilles Langis, a forecaster with the Ice Service, said the ice also is 10 to 20 cm thicker in most places. The report from the Ice Service was corroborated by the Denmark Meteorological Institute, which said the sea ice between Greenland and Canada was at its most expansive in 15 years.
“The nice thing about sea ice is that there is no analysis needed,” Stan Goldenberg, a meteorologist with NOAA’s hurricane research division, told Baptist Press in an interview. “This is raw data. You can look at the levels and see that it is colder. [...]
I wonder how long it will take for Al to come up with a way to link this to "Global Warming". It makes as much sense as does his comment regarding the Myanmar Cyclone.

Obama threatens US citizens
[...] “I would,” Mr. Obama said. “Not only will I, but I will make a commitment that Al Gore will be at the table and play a central part in us figuring out how we solve this problem. He's somebody I talk to on a regular basis. I'm already consulting with him in terms of these issues, but climate change is real. It is something we have to deal with now, not 10 years from now, not 20 years from now.” [...]
[...] Mr. Obama said he would use Mr. Gore to help forge a cap-and-trade system for carbon emissions designed to lower pollution.
The Illinois senator cautioned that such a system could mean an increase in electricity bills from power companies that rely on coal-burning, and that some of the money generated from a cap-and-trade system may be used in the beginning to help lower income or fixed income customers with those bills.
He also called on individuals to do their part to lower energy consumption.
“All of us are going to have to change our habits. We are a wasteful culture,” he said.
Using compact fluorescent light bulbs, energy efficient appliances, and unplugging power chargers when they're not in use are relatively simple solutions, he said.
“Those kinds of simple steps, if everybody takes them, can drastically reduce our energy consumption.” [...]
Read it all if you care to...
Cap-and-trade system huh. Sounds like Obama wants to cash in along side Gore on this money for nothing scheme that the so called environMENTALists have come up with.
All of us? Will Obama start by moving himself and his family into a more reasonable, say, 1400 sq foot home? Will Obama demand that Al Gore rid himself of his private jet , extra home(s) and also move into a home that is more environmentally correct? Perhaps Obama, Gore and every multi millionaire should share their own personal wealth and subsidize lower income or fixed income customers with their bills.

Hey Al Gore
How long will it take for you to update "An Inconvenient Truth" to resemble some truth?
More bad news for Gore. Even less of his so called "documentary" is the truth. It would be more suitable in the fiction section. There was more factual material in an episode of Gilligan's Island than there is in Al's movie.
Kilimanjaro not a victim of climate change, UW scientist says[...] On Kilimanjaro, ice loss seems to be driven by two factors: a lack of snowfall and sublimation, the same process that causes freezer burn by sucking moisture out of leftovers.
Researchers believe Kilimanjaro's glaciers formed about 11,000 years ago, when the region was undergoing a period of wet weather that allowed snow to accumulate. But even before the first Europeans reached the summit in 1889, the weather has been dry in Eastern Africa. There simply hasn't been enough snowfall to keep up with the loss of ice due to sublimation, Kaser explained. [...]
Slowly but surely the tide is moving in the right direction. Eventually we might even get the to the whole truth. Its all about the money. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Thank you Thank you Thank you
Finally someone involved in the education of our children has enough brains to say something! We seriously need more people like Heather Stilwell. Heather Stilwell is a school trustee in Surrey B.C. who thinks that if "An Inconvenient Truth" is to be shown to students, so should alternate opinions. Give Heather a raise!
After Heather Stilwell heard free copies of "An Inconvenient Truth" were being given to all high schools in B.C., she said she became concerned the film would be shown to students without going through the usual curriculum review process and end up giving them a one-sided view on climate change.
The trustee has tabled a notice of motion at the local school district asking that if the former U.S. vice-president's look at the causes and dangers of climate change is being screened for students, they should also see the British documentary, "The Great Global Warming Swindle."
"I've read enough that there is more than one thought in the issue of climate change, global warming and that Al Gore is not the be all and end all of opinion about that," she said today.
(emphasis mine)
The debate is not over. It has just begun.
Did I mention that they should give Heather a raise?

Al Gore says Tories' green plan a 'fraud'
If anyone should know what constitutes "fraud", Al Gore should. His whole life revolves around it. It truly is an "Inconvenient Truth" regarding Al's life style. He travels around the world screaming how we heathens are destroying the planet, while his very own actions do more harm to the environment in one day than the average person does in a year. He claims to do it to save the planet. The planet does not need to be saved. He is doing it to make megatonnes of money. Thanks to the many sheep out there that will believe everything he says, he is succeeding at doing just that.
“In my opinion, it is a complete and total fraud,” Mr. Gore said. “It is designed to mislead the Canadian people.”
Mr. Gore acknowledged he is not a Canadian citizen and said he has “no right to interfere in your decisions.”
However, he said, the rest of the world looks to Canada for moral leadership, and that's why this week's announcement was so “shocking.”
You are correct Al. You have no right to interfere... so take your movie and your lies and stuff them. And this guy has the balls to talk about morals? "Shocking"

Al Gore's Evolution
Al Before
Solar system to Gore: What 'global' warming?
"The planet has a fever," former Vice President Al Gore complained to Congress Wednesday. "If your baby has a fever, you go to the doctor."
The problem is Earth has seen a slight temperature rise, comparable to someone running a temperature of 98 degrees instead of 97.3 degrees. The doctor doesn't get excited and says to start taking medication when the temperature is closer to 101 degrees.
Al Gorged
The Cause of Global Warming Discovered
After much scientific research, I think I have discerned the true cause of global warming.
When I was a young doctor just beginning practice, it was unusual for a man to come into my office weighing more than 200 pounds. Weights of 200 and up were in the professional football player strata. Ordinary humans didn't weigh that much.
Al Gored

If Gore is Right...
I'm Henry the VIII, I am!
Liberals prefer the religion of science, scientist saviors and nutcase professional failure Al Gore as their prophet... As for the rest of us, a good dose of common sense reality will keep the fruitcake fear-driven global nightmare freaks away.
Lastly I have discovered, via researching Al's invention, the way to solve Al's problems. Gore and excess energy comsumption
I propose the following Excess Energy Consumption Tax (EECT): All residential electric and natural gas consumption taxes should be based upon excess energy use; after all, the point of raising taxes is to discourage excessive consumption to save the planet, right? Any excess energy consumption will be defined as being twice the national average consumption. All consumption in excess of the threshold will be taxed at the multiple of the national average rate of energy use.
Seems like a fair and logical way to go if you ask me. Distribute that wealth of yours Al. It's the right thing to do if you are truly concerned about the environment. Al Gore the prophet or Al Gore profits... which do you think he will chose in the end?

1000 New Adorned Preachers
The Church of Climatology is in the proccess of adorning 1000 more preachers including, Deputy Leader of the Green Party of Ontario, Victoria Serda. The head preacher, or DOPE as he is called, Al Gore, along with a team of climate change scientists and educators will brainwash equip them with the information and skills they need to preach their version of An Inconvenient Truth in towns and cities across North America. Serda had this to say....
"This is an opportunity to be part of a larger movement to empower people around the world, and to make climate change a key issue," Serda says. "I believe, as former World Bank Chief Economist Sir Nicholas Stern warned, that we must act now on climate change or we will lose at least 5% of our global GDP."
Read it all
In related news, The Church of Climatology has also gone online. Their goal is to convert as many non believers as possible with a little "Climate Change Challenge".
Scientific evidence demonstrates clearly that human activity is changing the planet's climate. But there are still sceptics who dispute the data and its interpretation. If you don't believe the science, please tell us why and we'll respond to your challenge.
Go ahead and see if you can stump their team of experts, including NERC's Chief Executive, Professor Alan Thorpe.
