Poodles and lap dogs, one in the same
Jack Layton and Gilles Duceppe take their new poodle Stephane for a walk around parliament hill.
Laplapoodle? Looks a bit like chicken but leaves a very bad taste in your mouth...

Stay just a little bit longer
My tribute to Stephane Dion. Thank you sir for not subjecting me to months of listening to John McCallum as interim leader.
I have heard rumors that there will be an opening for leader over at the Green Party soon. Maybe you want to give that a try. Just sayin'....
Love Timmy

Where's Stephane Dion?
Stephane Dion has not been seen or heard of since election night...
Can you find him in the picture below. Here is a tip. He is not in the front row where you would expect to see the leader of the opposition.
Click on the image for the big picture...
Wonder why that is?
They are kidding right?
On the bright side, Dion is getting a SHIFT. It ain't green though. It is more of a brownish hue...
Update: 10/19/2008 You too eh Ralph?

There's no need to fear
Underdog is here...
Dion obviously never watched the TV series... Although it does describe him quite well.
Underdog almost always caused collateral damage. Whenever someone complained about it, he would reply:
I am a hero who never fails.
I cannot be bothered with such details.
Details like what is in his Green Shit.
Perhaps that is what is in his ears and why he has hearing problems?

Stephane Dion on the environment
Stephane Dion's environmental Leadership... He is not a leader in any way shape or form.
Stephane Dion's record on the environment... Non existent
Stephane Dion's signature on environmental documents.... Worthless
Wearing green scarves and naming your dog Kyoto just does not cut it. You didn't get it done! Take my advice Dion, the environment is NOT something you want to fight an election over. That is if you ever get some gonads and force an election.

Dion the Leprechaun or Leper
Bumped... and Updated...
Turns out it is both.
Toronto Centre and Willowdale were no surprise. Had Bob Rae and Martha Hall Findlay not won those ridings I would be dead now from pure shock.
In Vancouver Quadra, Dion had the luck of the Irish on his side as it was a fairly close race. Which was a bit of a surprise for me at least. I figured this one would be another Liberal landslide. Joyce Murray managed to squeek out a win in this one with approx. 36% of the vote. The lowest percentage of all the winners.
Liberal - Joyce Murray - 10,155 votes - 36.1%
Conservative - Deborah Meredith - 10,004 votes - 35.5%
Desnethé--Missinippi--Churchill River was the one I thought could go to any of the parties. The Conservative, Rob Clarke, managed to pull off the win. He should be thanking Dion big time for this win. I am sure that Dion appointing a candidate for the libs was the death nail.
So Dion, how is that appointing thing working for ya? You are now 0 for 2... Keep up the good work! I'm positive PM Harper would love to see you appoint a whole bunch more before the next election. He would love those extra seats in the house....
The people decide in 4 bi-elections tomorrow...
Dion needs strong showing in March 17 byelections
Let the judgment begin...

Stephane Dion is a leader
Stephane Dion suggests there should be an "intervention" in Pakistan to solve the battle going on in Afghanistan.
[...] "As long as we don't solve the problem in Pakistan, I don't see how we can solve it in Afghanistan." [...]
Dion spoke and the enemy listened...
In an embarrassing battlefield defeat for Pakistan's army, Islamic extremists attacked and seized a small fort near the Afghan border, leaving at least 27 soldiers dead or missing. [...]
And here everyone thought it was Taliban Jack that was their leader...

Does this really surprise anyone?
Except Cherniak of course!
Over the past year, Liberal Leader Stephane Dion's approval rating has plummeted across Canada, according to a new Strategic Counsel poll.

Dion's Carbon Tax
Part of Dion's new green plan is too place a carbon tax on industry.
The main thrust of Mr. Dion's new proposal is what he describes as a “carbon budget,” meaning companies will have to reduce their emissions in line with Canada's Kyoto target of six per cent below 1990 levels.
For each tonne of carbon dioxide or other greenhouse gas that is emitted, companies would pay $20 into a green investment account. That price would rise to $30 by 2011 and companies could get their money back if they spend it on measures to reduce emissions.
Let me explain how this will work. Industry will pass on this cost to its customers, YOU and ME. The money will sit in an account garnishing interest that the government will keep for themselves to waste on useless programs. IF, and that is a big IF, a business does actually reduce there output of green house gases, it will get its money back based on that reduction.
So the government will get to keep its money for nothing and say "look at what a good responsible earth loving green government we are!" You and I will pay the cost for the business's which may even get some or all of that money back in time. Who the hell is going to give us OUR money back Mr. Dion? A very profitable scam for the government and possibly the business's at the little peoples expense as per usual.
Update: I'm not the only "genius" to figure out this latest plan by Dion.
Joanne over at Joanne's Journey has a good post on this one including an article by John Ivison in theNational Post.
Angry in the Great White North AKA, Steve Janke, has a more detailed post on this very same topic, also referring to the National Post article.

The gift that keeps on giving
Thank you to all the wonderful liberals who gave us conservatives the early Christmas gift that just keeps on giving.
Dion told Quebec newspaper Le Soleil in remarks published Wednesday that he has no objections to Marc-Yvan Cote being allowed to resume his Liberal membership.
Cote, a former party organizer in Quebec, was one of 10 members banned for life from the party by former prime minister Paul Martin in the wake of the sponsorship scandal.
Dion added that Cote's punishment was "exaggerated", and that he'd recognized his error and shouldn't be penalized for life.
Looks like Dion is a proud supporter of the "faint hope clause" as well with this comment. Lets look at this a little deeper shall we. "Life" in Canada is a mere 25 years according to our so-called justice system. If you are a good boy or girl, Santa will let you out on parole after serving 15 years of your so-called "Life" sentence. As everyone knows, liberals age twice as fast as dogs so on that basis, Cote has done his 15 years and the 12 liberal jurors will surely grant him parole.

Hot Air Record Broken
Alberta was the place chosen to break a world record for hot air ballooning. The new record holder must have taken into account that Stephane Dion would be in the province at the time, providing plenty of the required hot air, pretty much guarantying a new record.
On Friday, Hempleman-Adams set out in a hot-air balloon with an open wicker basket near Red Deer, Alta., and climbed to 9,906 metres.
Hempleman-Adams also braved frigid winter weather conditions in Alberta - at the height of his climb the temperature was reportedly -60 C.
The bitter cold Hempleman-Adams endured was caused by the cold reception that Dion received by Albertans, and was not related to climate change.
