Kandahar Prison Blues

My apologies to Johnny Cash...

I hear the troops a comin'
Their rollin' 'round the bend,
And I ain't seen the action,
Since, I don't know when,
I'm stuck in Kandahar Prison,
And time keeps draggin' on,
But they sure treat me well,
Despite all I have done.

When I was just a baby,
My Mama told me, "Son,
Always be a good boy,
Learn the way of the gun,"
So I killed some men in the Maywand district,
All our enemies must die,
When I hear them bombs blowin',
I raise my gun to the sky.

I bet those soldiers are eatin',
In fancy dining tents,
They're probably drinkin' Timmy's,
And readin letters they were sent,
But I know it was bound to happen,
I know I can't be free,
I haven't become a martyr,
And that's what tortures me.

Well, if they freed me from this prison,
I would go plant some more mines,
I know I can make them better,
If given a little more time,
Far from Kandahar Prison,
That's where I want to stay,
And Hope that I don't get,
My brains blown away.(end)

"The detention centre is not a nice place to be," admitted one senior NDS official. "It's not supposed to be. But we do not do those things which (Canadian) media have accused us of having done."

Those poor prisoners...
No TV's, No pool tables, no weight room, no free education, not much of anything really... I feel for them, I really do.

Maybe we should just hang'em all, then MSM can't complain about the prison conditions.... seems like a good solution to me....

If that were the case AB... why bother taking any prisoners in the first place?

That's a better idea yet ... back in the day, people firing on you without an identifiable uniform were classed as spies, and shot on site.
