Thank you Thank you Thank you

Finally someone involved in the education of our children has enough brains to say something! We seriously need more people like Heather Stilwell. Heather Stilwell is a school trustee in Surrey B.C. who thinks that if "An Inconvenient Truth" is to be shown to students, so should alternate opinions. Give Heather a raise!

After Heather Stilwell heard free copies of "An Inconvenient Truth" were being given to all high schools in B.C., she said she became concerned the film would be shown to students without going through the usual curriculum review process and end up giving them a one-sided view on climate change.

The trustee has tabled a notice of motion at the local school district asking that if the former U.S. vice-president's look at the causes and dangers of climate change is being screened for students, they should also see the British documentary, "The Great Global Warming Swindle."

"I've read enough that there is more than one thought in the issue of climate change, global warming and that Al Gore is not the be all and end all of opinion about that," she said today.
(emphasis mine)

The debate is not over. It has just begun.

Did I mention that they should give Heather a raise?

A school trustee who can actually think for herself? WOW! This is a miracle and should be in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Cool.... let's really hope this infection spreads....

Thanks for popping by Gayle... it is somewhat strange to have someone involved in schooling to be anything but a lefty. That she is in BC is even more of a miracle if you ask me. Perhaps the Pope could give her saint hood...

AB...
Lets hope it is contagious!

Can we transport her to Alberta? I have to sit through 2 hours of "global warming" dance tomorrow night. My daughter will be dancing to Melissa Ethridge's 'global warming hit song' and even SHE is gagging, although she did by into an Inconvenient Truth (being 13, with no balance of the debunking video).

*sigh*

by = buy of course

I do not envy you at all Candace. Sitting for two hours of anything that does not include catching fish, for me anyways is too much to handle!

Just have your daughter spend a little time reading the posts here re "church of climatology" and that should give her a balance to the Gore effect...

Maybe it would be better if she just watched these... Takes less time...

Tim: The Stilwell woman is an evangelical, not a Catholic, so the Pope doesn't like her for sainthood. The locals don't much like her, either, but she keeps getting back on the school board because there aren't any other choices.

Candace: If you want her in Alberta, and you can convince her to go, I'll buy her damned ticket! After enduring about a year of her rather expensive brand of interference, though, you won't be thanking me, I promise you...

Chimera... I really don't care what religion she is. In this case, she is a SAINT as far as I am concerned...

I'll have to google her to see if I can find anything that might change my mind.
