Who's Ear is in Your Pocket?

Strange but true. Big brother, who ever that might be, is "watching" some people using Canadian coins.

Canadian coins containing tiny transmitters have mysteriously turned up in the pockets of at least three American contractors who visited Canada, says a branch of the U.S. Defense Department.

Security experts believe the miniature devices could be used to track the movements of defence industry personnel dealing in sensitive military technology.

Is this loonie or what?

Update: Turns out this is was a false report

I saw this article and almost posted on it, but I couldn't figure out how to position it, barring snide comments about conspiracy theorists, alarmists, and other nutjobs running loose in the DoD (love the title you've got on this one, by th' way).

The biggest problem -- aside from "how did they get the chip inside the coin (like the caramel in the Caramilk bar)? -- is: Once your target has the coin, how do you keep him from spending it?

My "title" seemed obvious to me as soon as I read this one....

I have been wondering the same thing Chimera... only thing I can think of is they used toonies and replaced the center section with a look alike chip? As far as how do you get the person to hng onto them... Canadian money in an Americans pocket... worthless.... and if it were a toonie a bit of a novelty item for them perhaps?
