I want one!

Although most car enthusiasts would think I'm nuts.... I want to get a 1994 Vauxhall Cavalier. Why you might ask? Well, not only are they cheap, well under $2000.00 Canadian plus shipping of course. That's not the main reason though. What if I told you, for that cheap price you could own a world record breaking speed demon! Yes, this car is faster than the 2005 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 that tops out at a mere 253.2 mph. One of these little, not so pretty Vauxhall Cavaliers has been clocked in Newport, Gwent, Wales doing 420 MPH in a 30 MPH zone! I'm not making this up. This is one fast TAXI! Or perhaps the photo radar was faulty? Typo? What do you think?

LOL...How about a coast-to-coast race between your Vauxhall (oh, for the good old days) and my Jetwing? I might be able to hop over the tops of mountains that you have to drive around, but you've got almost four times as much speed as me...

...and the loser pays all traffic tickets. ;-)

As long as I'm on terra firma, you're on! Will this be a cross Canada race? I must warn you, I was a long haul driver for a few years....I don't require much sleep...lol

I spent a few years as a professional driver, myself, although not long-haul. Define sleep. :D

Canada or USA...west coast to east coast...pick a spot on the map to start from and one to finish, pack a lunch, and go...yeah.

sleep... something you try to avoid so you can make a few more miles....

USA would be tempting as the interstates allow a better not to mention faster route cross country. However I will stick with the Canadian route as it is much more visually enjoyable. Eastern Alberta, Saskatewan and Manitoba being the exception. But thats only a few hours at 420 mph... :)

Marine Drive in Whytecliff Park seems like a good starting point... and the first to stick a toe in the atlantic at Glace Bay, Nova Scotia is the winner....

Whytecliff Park to Glace Bay...I see you're not including any islands on this trip. And I was thinking how nice it would be to get to see Newfoundland, at long last...

Islands would not be fare for me traveling on land. I was not born yesterday. I also plan on winning! To have to take a slow ferry across any large body of water would be to give you an advantage... NOT! Seeing we will be right there so to speak, you are free to fly over to NL after I win the race....lol Enjoy your visit. I'm sure the Newfies will be able to help you drown your sorrows....

Damn, and I was hoping you weren't going to notice that little detail...

On the other hand, at 420 mph, crossing the water would be more like skipping a stone on the surface to the other side, don't you think?

That race would be worth seeing but if the Cavalier really goes that fast then I will want one hope it is made from 100% genuine Vauxhall parts some makes now mix parts from other makes.
